Denis passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved and in the wonderful care of St. Mary’s Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 15. Deeply loved and mourned by his wife Mary (née Boyle) and his daughters and sons Sinéad (Glynn), Ruth (Walsh), Patrick, Niamh, John and Rachael (Williams).
A very proud grandfather to Grace, Sarah and Alice, Aisling, Patrick, Aidan and Joseph, Bradán and Brooke, Conor, Mark and Laura. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren and by his sons-in-law John, Paddy and Wayne, daughter-in-law Aideen and John’s partner Avril, sisters Kathleen and Marie, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, the extended O’Brien and Boyle families, former colleagues from Digital and other happy places of work, neighbours, and friends.
Reposing at St. Anthony's Room within the Church of St. John the Apostle, Knocknacarra, Galway, on Friday, 17 May, from 4.00 p.m. with Removal at 6 p.m. into the Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Denis on Saturday at 11 a.m. and following Mass he will be laid to rest at Rahoon Cemetery close to his home.
