Denis O'Sullivan

On Easter Sunday, April 5th 2026, peacefully in the presence of his loving family and in the tender care of the staff at Cork University Hospital, after an illness bravely fought, DENIS, beloved husband and lifelong companion of Noreen (née Keohane), predeceased by his loving daughter Cait and granddaughter Katie, much adored father of Stephen, Mairead, Louise, Michael, Kieran, Daniel, Dominic, Alan, Nealius, and John. Sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, his 35 adored grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, a large community of wonderful neighbours, and card playing friends.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Cork University Hospital, Dr. Bambury, Professor Connolly, Dr. Joan Lynch, Dr. Owen O Flynn and all the nurses and staff at Nua Medical for the excellent care shown to Denis.

Reposing in Coakleys Funeral Home, Chapel St, Bantry on Tuesday April 7th from 6pm to 8pm with rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Wednesday April 8th from 6pm to 8pm with vigil prayers at 8pm. Requiem mass on Thursday April 9th at 12noon in St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry (to view live stream click here) followed burial in the Abbey cemetery.
