Denis Slyne - Donncha Mac Sléimhne

Formerly of Knocknagallagh, Bandon

Unexpectedly on 30th September 2025. Beloved husband of Mary (née Whelton) and much-loved father of Gobnait and Pádraig. Predeceased by dearly loved brother John, sister Margaret, and his parents Abina and George. Denis is also deeply mourned by his son-in-law David O’Shaughnessy, daughter-in-law Fiona Ní Choileáin, and his grandsons Rory, Luke, Cathal and Dara. Remembered fondly and sadly missed by his extended Slyne and Whelton family, lovely neighbours and friends, in particular his Blackrock swimming community.

Funeral arrangements:
Friday, 3rd October 2025

Denis will lie in repose in ‘St. Anthony’s Room’ within the Church of St. John the Apostle, Knocknacarra from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, 4th October 2025
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Denis on arrival at the Church at 11.00 a.m. and following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rinville cemetery, Oranmore. (See livestream link and maps below)
