The death has occurred of
Derek Ward
Derek Ward, (Castleknock, Dublin 15 and formerly of Cherryfield Avenue, Walkinstown) passed peacefully on January 27th, 2026, at Elm Green Nursing Home, Castleknock. Beloved son of the late James (Jimmy) and Monica (Mona) and much Loved brother of Audrey, Carole, Kevin and the late Barbara. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Jim, nephews Shane and Graham, and niece Deirdre, brother-in-law Mark and niece Hayley, and friends and relatives.
The Ward family would like to thank and offer condolences to the Elm Green staff for the love and care they extended to Derek since he came to Elm Green 15 years ago. You were his family who were there every day for him, tending to his medical needs and keeping him company, especially in his last days. We are forever in your debt. You are all heroes.
A memorial service followed by refreshments will take place in Elm Green Nursing Home (Eircode D15 E403) on Tuesday 10th February at 10.30am. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to MS Ireland.
