Dermot Hobbs

HOBBS, Dermot (Leixlip, Co. Kildare, formerly of Langrishe Place and Marino, Dublin and retired An Garda Síochána) January 3rd, 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his family and in the tender care of the staff at St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh and previously The Mater Hospital.

With heavy hearts and thankful memories we say goodbye to Dermot, a true legend to those who knew and loved him. He left this world surrounded by everyone he loved.

A devoted husband to Sandra, a wonderful dad to Aoife and Niamh and a great friend to sons-in-law Gavin and Brendan. His greatest joy was being grandad Dermo to his six adoring grandchildren Fionn, Senan, Ryan, Cian, Conall and Noah.

Deeply missed by his loving siblings Frank, Pat, Mary, Alex and Claude, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday (6th January) from 5pm to 8pm.

Removal to the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, Confey, Leixlip on Wednesday morning (7th January) arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am followed by burial in Confey Cemetery, Leixlip.
