Passed peacefully on the 9th December 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Pre-deceased by his brothers Bishop James and Fr. Aidan.

Beloved husband of Joan and dearly loved father of Una, Jane, Suzie, Deirdre and Derry. Dermot will be deeply missed by his devoted family, twenty grandchildren, sons-in-law Kevin, Yutaka, David (Max), and Peter, daughter-in-law Audrey, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Conneely’s Funeral Home, Flood Street, Galway (H91 A786) on Friday 12th December from 5.30pm until 7pm. Arriving at The Good Shepherd Church, Doughiska, Galway (H91 DKF7) for Requiem Mass on Saturday 13th December at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Bohermore.
