Des died peacefully surrounded by those he loved in the late hours of Monday, 19 January 2026. Deeply mourned by his wife Mary and sons Ronan and Conal. He will always be fondly remembered also by his daughters-in-law Liz and Laura, and by his grandchildren Anna, Tom, Eve, Ryan, Callum and Charlie, by his much-loved brother and sister, Fidelma (USA) and Terence (USA), brother-in-law John, nephews and nieces, former colleagues, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his precious and beloved son Rory and his older sister Maeve and husband Billy and sister-in-law Mary Jane.

Des will lie in repose at the family home on Taylors Hill ('Roslin' H91NX6F) from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will not be a Removal to the Church this evening.
Friday, 23 January, 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Des on arrival at St. Joseph's Parish Church, Presentation Road at 11 a.m. (H91 YA30). Following Mass, he will be laid to rest with his beloved son Rory in Rahoon cemetery.

Parking arrangements: Scoil Róis Primary School, Taylor's Hill (H91 W2V9) have very kindly offered to open their car park for the duration of the Reposing and this will facilitate orderly parking. We are very grateful.
