Des Smyth

Des Smyth, (Kilcock and formerly of Straffan, Co. Kildare.) Died on August 9th, 2025. Suddenly at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Beloved son of the late Martin & Teresa Smyth, Kilclonfert, Co. Offaly. Predeceased by his siblings Robert, Alice, Sean & Eugene.

Des will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Breda (O’Keeffe), son Shane, daughters Carina and Rosanne, daughter-in-law Nickie, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Mairin, Oisín, Lucía, Donagh, Róisín & Riley, sisters Maureen & Eithne, brothers Silvester, Brendan, Larry & Raymond, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbours & Poppy.

Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth, (W23V99E) on Tuesday from 5pm, with concluding prayers at 7pm. Removal from the Funeral Home by Oliver Reilly Funeral Directors on Wednesday at approx. 10:30am to arrive at St. Coca's Church, Kilcock for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Kilcock. Those who are unable to attend the funeral, may leave a personal message for the family in the "condolences" section below.
