Desmond Brehony

Brehony, Desmond, Abbey Manor and late of St. Michael’s Terrace, Arklow, Co. Wicklow 18th April 2026 peacefully, in the gentle care of the staff at Wicklow Hospice, Magheramore with John and Breege by his side. Beloved son of the late Des and Kathleen (née Hurley), brother of the late Marty and brother-in-law of the late Paul. Treasured by his loving brother John and sister-in-law Breege, his sister Brigid and her children Christopher and Katherine. Adored by his sister-in-law Alvina, her partner Paul and her son Killian. He will be sadly missed by his loving brother, sister, sisters-in-law, nephews, niece, his Sunbeam family - his best friend and heartbroken keyworker Margaret, all the devoted staff, past and present, also his friends in Abbey Manor, cousins, relatives, neighbours, friends and kind community members.

Desmond will be reposing at Hudson’s Funeral Home (Y14 PT80) on Tuesday from 4pm until removal at 6.30pm to The Church of Saints Mary & Peter, Arklow arriving for reception prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 10am, followed by burial in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Arklow.
