Desmond Malone

The death has occurred of Desmond Malone on the 19th April, 2025, a native of Ballycanew, Co. Wexford and most recently Rathgar, Co. Dublin, Retired Chief Superintendent, An Garda Siochana, passed peacefully after a short illness at St. James's Hospital Dublin. Beloved husband of the late Brigid and pre-deceased by his brothers John and Jim, sisters Eileen, Marge and Eithne. Will be sadly missed by his sons Seamus, Martin, Francis, Fergal and daughter Carmel, daughters-in-law Liz and Marie, and by Elijah, his grandchildren Ciara, Emma, Sarah, Rachel, Juliet, Freddie, David and Sean, sisters Olive and Mary, sister-in-law Josephine, brothers-in-law John and Paddy. We would like to thank the wonderful team at The Beacon Renal for the tender supportive care in recent years.

Des will be lying in Repose at Fanagan's Funeral Home, 92 Kimmage Road Lr., (Eircode D6W N279) on Monday 21st April from 3 p.m. until 5 p. m. Funeral arriving to St. Paul's Church, Mount Argus on Tuesday 22nd April for Funeral Mass at 11.30 a.m. followed by Burial in Deansgrange Cemetery.
