Desmond Shanahan

Desmond Shanahan of Ballylahive, Abbeydorney, Co. Kerry, died peacefully on 3rd May 2025, beloved husband of Nora (Baby) and dearest father of Donal, Bernadette, Norma & Deirdre.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his cherished grandchildren Óran, Emma, Adam, Charlotte & Bobby, nephews and nieces, sons-in-law Brian & Noel, brother-in-law Kevin, sister-in-law Margaret, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at St. Bernard’s Church Abbeydorney- Day Chapel, on Monday (5th May) from 5 to 7 p.m. Requiem Mass for Desmond will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11a.m. (streamed on www.churchmedia.tv/st-bernards-church-abbeydorney). Interment afterwards in Kyrie Eleison Abbey, Abbeydorney.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to The Palliative Care Unit, U.H.K. (via “Donation” link below – Kerry Hospice Foundation), or care of the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee.
