Donal (Dan) Carey

Former Fine Gael Minister of State, T. D., Senator and Councillor and Lana Knit, Shannon.

 

Donal passed away peacefully on the 25th November 2025, in his 89th year, at UHL, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn (née Forde), his baby daughter Jane and his parents Eleanor and Joe.

 

Sadly missed by his loving family; children Leonora, Joe and Donal, daughters-in-law Grace and Marie-Therese, adored grandchildren Eibhlin, Nina, Lily, Alma, and Dan, brothers Seamus (London) and Michael (Boston), sisters Mary Carr (Westport), Margaret Dorney (Dublin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and a wide circle of former colleagues and friends.

 

Funeral Arrangements: Reposing at Clarecastle Church (V95 T861), Friday (28th Nov.) from 4.30 pm, concluding with funeral prayers at 7 pm. Funeral Mass Saturday in Clarecastle Church (29thNov.) at 11 am. Burial afterwards in Clarehill Cemetery.
