Donal McCarthy

On 2nd May 2023, Donal passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family under the exceptional care of Bantry General Hospital.  Beloved husband and best friend to Rose (nee O’Neill), devoted father to Kate (O'Shea), Shane, Julie and Oonagh, adoring grandfather to Olivia, Harper, Ella and Daire, brother of Pat (Charleville), Noreen (O’Neill) (Castletownshend), John Joe (Caheragh), Chris (Wexford) and the late Reverend Jeremiah J. (Jerry) McCarthy. Donal will be sadly missed by his son-in-law Conor, daughter-in-law Blaire, Brendan and Jer, brothers-in-law Donal and Chris, sisters-in-law Geraldine, Berna, Mary and Geraldine, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, dear friends, neighbours and former colleagues (Bus Eireann, Skibbereen and Capwell).

Rosary at his residence in Corlis, Caheragh on Wednesday, 3rd May at 8pm. Reposing at his residence on Thursday, 4th May, from 4pm to 7pm followed by prayers (one-way traffic system will be in place). Requiem Mass on Friday, 5th May, at 1.30pm in Church of the Holy Family, Caheragh (P47 Y886) - livestreamed on https://www.corklivestream.com/funerals. Donal will repose in the church from 12.30pm.  Funeral afterwards to Caheragh new cemetery.

Note: Access to Donal's residence will be from Caheragh church. Funeral signs will be on the road.
