Donal O’Donovan

DONAL O’DONOVAN, Derrymihan West, Castletownbere, Co.Cork and formerly of Croydon, Surrey, U.K and Clonakilty, Co.Cork on February 21st 2026, peacefully passed away in his 81st year of life, in the presence of his family at Bantry General Hospital.

Beloved husband to Mary (née O’Sullivan Tim), brother to Nellie O’Riordan and May McGoldrick. Deeply mourned by his sons Gary and Stephen, daughters-in-law Liz and Natalie, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Donal’s family would like to thank all the staff at CUH, his G.P.s and a special mention to the staff at Bantry General Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Donal and his family over the past few months. It is very much appreciated.

Reposing at Harrington’s Funeral Home, Castletownbere on Monday February 23rd, from 5pm to 7pm followed by prayers and removal to Donal’s home.

HOUSE PRIVATE.

Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday February 24th at 12noon in St.Michael’s Church in Cahermore followed by burial in the local cemetery.

Donal received numerous blood donations over the past year, so if you are able to please become a blood donor.
