Donal, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family in Cork University Hospital (CUH) on Sunday, December 14th, 2025.

After eight years of epic struggle, many a seemingly lost cause won through courage, willpower and sheer stubbornness, his strength worn down but his spirit unbroken, this giant of a man is finally at rest.

Forever mourned and celebrated by the love of his life, his wife Kathleen (née O'Connell), daughter Shannon and her husband Phil, son Ros and his wife Maria, daughter Megan and partner Paddy, and by his darling granddaughters Havana, Saoirse and Sienna, his sisters Katsy and Deirdre, his brothers Diarmuid, Con and Paddy.

Predeceased by his parents Dan and Sheila, his sisters Réidín and Gráinne, brothers Tadhg and Jack and his grandson Hunter.

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Tuesday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm followed by Prayers and Reception into Holy Cross Church, Charleville.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 noon, after which Donal will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Charleville.
