Donie (Daniel) O’Brien

Donie (Daniel) O’Brien, Tieraclea, Tarbert, Co. Kerry and formerly Glenagragra, Glin, Co. Limerick. Donie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on July 12th 2025 in the wonderful care of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry.

Donie is predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Lena (née Mulvihill), his infant son Thomas Michael, his brothers James and Jerry and his sisters Helena and Mary Ann.

Donie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Monica (née Donovan), his loving family Marie, Jerry, Daniel and Helena, his brother Patrick, his grandchildren Jonah, Donnácha and Balvenie, daughters-in-law Anne and Emily, son-in-law Stuart, sisters-in-law Mary and Joan, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours, a large circle of friends and former work colleagues at E.S.B. Tarbert.

Rest in Peace

Donie will repose at St. Mary’s Funeral Home, Tarbert on Monday evening (July 14th) from 5pm until 8pm. Donie’s Funeral Cortege will depart Tieraclea on Tuesday morning (July 15th) at 10:30am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Tarbert for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s New Cemetery.
