Dorothy Eileen O'Connor

Dundrum, Dublin

The death has taken place of Eileen O’Connor (née Discon) in her 98th year on 15 September 2024, after a short illness. Eileen lived most of her life in Barton Road East and Victoria Terrace, Dundrum. She was a long established and well-known pedigree dog breeder and international show judge. Eileen was predeceased in 1972 by her very loving husband Brendan and in March 2024 by their son Alan.

 

She will be greatly missed by her son Clive, daughter Joy, daughter-in-law Anne and her dear friends Marie and Sean. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Brendan, Darran and Eoin, Simon and Gemma and their wives and partners. Also missed by her great-grandchildren Hugo, Poppy, Heidi, Holly, Hazel, Grace and Sarah, cousin Edwin and friends. The family are very grateful to the staff, nurses and doctors at St James’s Hospital for the special kindness and care Eileen received.

 

Rest in Peace

Eileen will repose at Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum on Thursday afternoon (September 19th) from 3pm to 5pm.

 

Complimentary car parking is available at the old Dundrum Shopping Centre (Lidl) carpark – entrance on Dundrum village main street. (Not Dundrum Town Centre car park). Tickets to exit car park free of charge available on request at the funeral home.

 

A service to celebrate Eileen’s life will be held at 2.30 pm on Friday (September 20th) in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold's Cross D6W HY98.
