Dr. Donal Cotter

The death has occurred of Dr. Donal J. Cotter, Rathmines, Dublin.

Cotter, Dr. Donal J. of Rathmines, and originally Roscommon town, died on 2 June 2024 on the last day of his 99th year, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Isabel Bernadette (née Derham), his sisters, Brigín, Maura and Philomena and his brothers, Philip, Paddy, Nicholas, Dick, Eoghan, Coman, and Francis.

A loving father and grandfather to his five children and nine grandchildren, he will be sadly missed by his children, Colette, Paul, Suzanne, Cecily and David, his grandchildren, Hugh, Lucy, Sorcha, Isabel, Domhnall, Delia, Nicholas, Fiachra and Eddie, his daughter-in-law Mary, his son-in-law Martin, his nieces, nephews, extended family, former colleagues, friends and patients.

Donal’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 o’clock on Saturday, 8 June, in the Church of the Holy Name, Beechwood Avenue, with burial afterwards in Holmpatrick Cemetery, Skerries.

The family give special thanks to the staff of Saint Andrew’s Ward in Saint Vincent’s Hospital for the excellent care they provided to our father in his final days.
