Dr. Patrick (Joe) COYLE

COYLE Patrick Joseph, M.D. “Dr. Joe” Philadelphia (USA) and formerly Castlebar (peacefully) in his sleep age 92, early on Christmas morning, December 25, 2020. Much loved and cherished.  He will be sadly missed by his children Michèle, Darren and Caroline, and their mother Colette Coyle (née Donnelly), daughter-in-law Jean (née Fair), son-in-law John Vidmar, grandchildren Alexandra, Drew and Olivia, great-granddaughter Emma, brother Vince and his family, nephew Alan Hynes, his extended family and many close friends. Predeceased by his father John Coyle, his mother Mary Coyle (née Coghill) and sisters Catherine Hynes and May Coyle.

Born in Co. Cavan, Ireland, Dr. Joe graduated from The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 1956 and spent a life dedicated to the medical profession in Castlebar, Co. Mayo and Philadelphia. An avid pilot, he was an Aviation Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration for almost 40 years.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral, Reno, Nevada on January 6, 2021.  Later in 2021, there will be a memorial service and celebration of his life in Philadelphia and in Ireland, his beloved homeland.
