Dr. Sylvia Dixon
(née Finley)

Dr. Sylvia Dixon (née Finley) of Charleville Road, Rathmines, Dublin, and formerly of London and Manchester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 24 March in her 89th year. She was in the loving care of Orwell Healthcare nursing home, Rathgar.

 

Having graduated with an M.D. from the University of Manchester, Sylvia practiced as a consultant psychiatrist initially in England and then in Ireland. She also served for many years on the Board of Directors of HAIL, the mental health housing association.

 

She was predeceased by her husband Victor and daughter Ros.

 

She is much loved and dearly missed by her sister Helen, daughter Corinna, son Terry, grandchildren Arianna, Naoise, India and Elizabeth, son-in-law Mike, Terry’s partner Helen, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

After reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home (D6WAC82) on Friday evening, March 27th from 5:30pm to 7pm, a service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held at the Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome (D6WHY98) on Saturday afternoon at 3:45pm, followed by a cremation.
