late of Convent Road, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford,

formerly of Castlebridge, Co. Wexford.

Watty passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family in University Hospital Waterford.

on Saturday the 25th of November 2023.

 

Predeceased by his beloved brother Fr.Michael Shortle and his sister Geraldine.

Watty will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Gail, his loving son Sean; his brother Desmond and brother Maurice Roche, sisters Nicola and Helen. Watty will be deeply missed by all his, relatives, extended family, his former colleagues and his many friends.

 

The Shortle family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff in UHW for the great care that Watty received during his illness.

Watty's remains will be reposing at Falconer's Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore, Co Waterford on Tuesday, the 28th of November, from 5pm to 7pm.

All are welcome

 

Watty's Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, the 29th of November, at 1pm at Holy Cross Church, Killea, Dunmore East, Co. Waterford. As per Watty's wishes, a private cremation service will take place at a later date.

 

Watty's funeral cortege will pass his residence at approximately 12:40 pm arriving for Requiem Mass at 1pm.

 

Family flowers only, House strictly private at all times.

 

Mass cards can be posted to Falconers Funeral Directors, Riverstown, Tramore, Co. Waterford.​
