Dr. Rueben George Keegan

Unexpectedly on Wednesday October 19th 2022. Wolfe Tone Terrace, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. Born and raised in Graaff-Reinet, South Africa. Went to medical school at University College Galway. Practised surgery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, U.S.A for over thirty years.  Predeceased by his mother Muriel, father George, sister Moira, brother James and sister Hypatia. Sadly missed by the love of his life, the beautiful Kay Keegan (née Mary Catherine Claffey), wife of over 52 years, mother of his seven children and grandmother of nine. Deeply regretted by his loving daughters Hayley, Nicola, Joanna and Tara, sons James, Emmett and Andrew, his nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews (especially Mark Claffey), in-laws, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand, Athlone on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral ceremony will take place in Shannon Crematorium on Wednesday at 3pm followed by cremation.
