Edward Joseph (Joe) McLoughlin

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Edward Joseph (Joe) McLoughlin, Maryland, USA, and formerly of Corraslira, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon.

Joe passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, 22nd March 2026.

Joe is deeply regretted by his sister Maura Lundon, brother-in-law Denis, nieces Denise, Michelle, Catherine, Siobhán and Caitríona, nephews Dara and Brendan, extended family and friends.

Joe is sadly missed and will be lovingly remembered by his family, relations and his many great friends in both Ireland and the USA.

Joe was widely known for his service with An Garda Síochána, his longstanding membership of the Knights of Columbus and membership of the Teamsters. Joe had a deep love of Irish music, history and culture. He will be forever remembered for his quiet strength, enduring faith, his generosity of spirit and his kindness to all who knew him.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Joe and Kate McLoughlin and his beloved sister Catherine.

Joe's Funeral Mass will take place in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, on Saturday, April 11th, at 11am, followed by internment of his ashes in Strokestown Cemetery.
