Edward Joyce (Edward Pat Festy)

The death has occurred of Edward Joyce (Edward Pat Festy), Lissoughter, Recess, Co. Galway.

Peacefully at Galway Hospice surrounded by his loving family on July 13th, 2025.

Predeceased by his parents Pat and Nora, and his brother Festy (Chris).

Sadly missed and remembered always by his beloved wife Barbara, son Patrick, adored grandchildren Jack and Beíbhinn.
Edward will be fondly missed by his brothers John, Paddy and Stephen, his sisters Mary Walsh (Chicago), Barbara McSharry, and Bernadette Gibbons, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, all his many friends and neighbours.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Walsh’s Funeral Home (H91EV52), Oughterard, Co. Galway on Monday, July 14th, 2025 from 5pm with removal at 7pm to St. Patrick`s Church, Recess (H91 C7Y4). Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 15th, at 11am. Burial afterwards to Ballinafad Cemetery.

The family would like to take this opportunity to offer their deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses of St. Joseph's Ward at Galway University Hospital for all the care and kindness during his short illness. The family would also like to thank the staff at Galway Hospice for the care given to Edward.
