Edward Patrick "Eamon" Sheehy, born November 17, 1936 in Limerick City, Ireland, and late of Marine Park, Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025. He spent his formative years in Garvey's Range and St. Mary's Parish, Kings Island, in Limerick City before emigrating to the United States in 1957.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Sheehy (née Benson), his parents, and brothers. Survived by his loving children, grandchildren, brother, and sisters. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, neighbours, and friends.
Wake will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, followed immediately by burial at Calverton National Cemetery.
A strong-minded and proud Limerick man, Eamon was a devoted lover of animals, a passionate supporter of Munster rugby, and a loyal follower of Limerick senior hurling. He served with honor in the United States Army and subsequently gave 37 years of dedicated service to TWA at JFK Airport. A proud Irishman, he instilled a deep love of Irish culture in his children and grandchildren and returned home to Ireland frequently, embracing the culture and community that shaped him.
