The death has occurred of Eileen Shields (nee Ahern) of Plunkett Road, Askeaton, Co Limerick and late of Carrigkerry.

Eileen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the care of the staff of the University Hospital Limerick on Saturday 11th April 2026.

Predeceased by her parents Bridget and William Ahern, brother Tommy, sisters Ann, Mary and Nora, and niece Jeananne.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her loving husband John, her daughters Antoinette, Elaine and Marese, son-in-law Billy O’Gorman, grandsons Colin, Finn and Billy Óg, granddaughters Moya and Muireann, great grandchildren Mai, Eve and Aida, sisters Catherine and Bridie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and many good friends.

May she Rest in Peace.

Eileen will be reposing at Kieran Madigan Funeral Home, Main St., Askeaton, Co. Limerick (Eircode V94 K598) on Monday 13th April, from 5.30pm to 7pm, followed by prayers at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Church, Askeaton, Co. Limerick (V94AP52). Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Askeaton on Tuesday 14th April at 11am, followed by burial afterwards at Lismakeera Graveyard, Askeaton, Co. Limerick.
