Eileen Sweeney

Sweeney, Eileen (Kimmage, Dublin, ICTU and late of Ardglass, Castlelyons, Co. Cork) June 8, 2020 (unexpectedly) at home. Dearly beloved wife and best friend of Tom McCabe, beloved daughter of the late Julia and William Sweeney (Ardglass) and loving sister of Michael, Mairead, Noreen, Catherine,  John, Billy, Peter, Jim, Ed and Julia. Sadly missed by her heartbroken husband, family, the extended McCabe family, her treasured nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, godchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives, her friends  and colleagues in ICTU, her former friends in CWU and Concern and her large circle of friends.

In line with HSE/ Government advice and to ensure the safety of all Eileen’s family and friends a small private funeral will be held. Her family would ask that everyone over the coming days who knew Eileen would take some time to light a candle or say a prayer in her memory. When current restrictions are lifted a memorial service for Eileen will be arranged. Messages of support can be left in the online condolence book below.
