Eithne VERNON

It is with great sadness that we announce the sad passing of our dear Aunt Eithne, having passed peacefully at Cúram Care Nursing Home, in her 94th year, surrounded with love and kindness.

Eithne, late of Thomas Street, was Head Telephonist at Telecom Ēireann, Dundalk. She was third youngest and last to pass away of the children of James and Charlotte (née Burns) Vernon. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers Gertie, Doris Gonnelly, Eileen, Grace Livingstone, Jimmy, Robert, Edwin, Frederick and John, nephews Anthony and Gerard and niece Eileen. Eithne is survived by her sister-in-law Maura Vernon, John’s wife (Ard Easmuinn), her dear nephew Damien, her 25 dear nephews and nieces, 51 grandnephews and grandnieces, her extended family and dear, loyal caring neighbours and friends.

Reposing in the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Homes, Dundalk (A91 KW52, entrance on Castletown Road) on Monday, March 23rd from 3pm-7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, March 24th in the Mortuary Chapel, Dowdallshill (A91 F598) at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and community of Cúram Care Nursing Home for the tender care Eithne received during her time there and to Dr. Michael Kiernan for his kind attention.
