Elizabeth (Betty) Cooney (née Leigh) of Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow and formerly Burtown, Athy, Co. Kildare passed away suddenly but peacefully on Friday 4th July 2025, in the care of St. Vincent’s University Hospital.

 

Predeceased by Sean. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her beloved children Fand, Emer, Feargus and Oisín, cherished grandchildren Dara, Sionna, Cian, Keela, Dorian, son-in-law Brian, daughter-in-law Eva, extended family, friends and neighbours.

 

Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Thursday (10th July) from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will take place on Friday (11th July) at 11am in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Athy, Co. Kildare, R14 CA26, followed by burial in St. Michael’s New Cemetery.

 

A gentle soul with a poet’s heart, she captured life through her creativity, with her family being her masterpiece.
