Elizabeth May (Lily) Laing
(née Ure)

Clondalkin, Dublin

Laing, (née Ure), Elizabeth May (Lily), (Clondalkin, Dublin), 28th August 2020, (peacefully) at home after a long illness, surrounded by her devoted family. Treasured wife and soulmate of Sydney, (Canon), and adored mother of Zandra and Hilary.  Sister of Richard, and Billy and Harry (deceased). Lily will be greatly missed by her sons-in-law Andrew (Giles) and Denis (Duggan), her grandchildren, Ingrid and Robert, brother Richard, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Special thanks to the carers from the HSE, Comfort Keepers, Home Help, Public Health Nurses, Greenpark Pharmacy and the Palliative Care staff from Harold's Cross who lightened our physical burden during the last number of years and enabled Lily to remain at home while seriously ill.  Heartfelt gratitude to the clergy who willingly and without asking provided pastoral support and friendship, Dean William Morton, Dean Victor Stacey, Canon Cecil Mills and Dean Niall Sloane. Thanks also to the many people who kept Lily and the family in their thoughts and prayers over the years.

We trust Lily is now in a place of no more pain or suffering and we look forward to a joyful reunion in heaven. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
