Ellen Shaughnessy

Ellen Shaughnessy (nee Joyce), Mirah, Turloughmore, Co. Galway and formerly of Belville, Athenry.

Ellen slipped away peacefully with her family by her side in the care of Mystical Rose Nursing Home on 12th December 2025, days into her 99th year.

Predeceased by her husband Michael Joe, her brothers Paddy, Tom and Jimmy, her sisters Kathleen, Delia, Agnes and Teresa and infant sister Clare.

She will be deeply missed by her family, her daughters Norrie (Badger), Christina (Keary) and Anne, her son Pat, sons in-law Joe and Paddy, daughter in-law Elaine, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her dear sister Monica (Doherty) and sister in-law Kathleen Joyce, her many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Reposing at Our Lady's Chapel, Lackagh (H65N129) on Sunday 14th December from 5.30pm. Removal at 7.30pm to the adjoining Church. Funeral Mass on Monday 15th of December at 11am. Burial afterwards in Lackagh Old Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Lackagh Church live you-tube channel and broadcast on parish radio at 106.9fm.
