CANNING (née Whelan), Elsie (Mary) (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Seafort Gardens, Sandymount) September 29th, 2025, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Beloved wife of Anthony and much loved mother of Joseph, Amanda, Kenneth and Ian. Sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughter, grandchildren Jordan, Erica, David, Darrel, Nadine, Daniel, Chloe and Ian, great-grandchildren Róisín, Thomas and Ava, daughter-in-law Louise, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Thursday evening (2nd October) from 6pm to 8pm. Elsie’s Funeral Service will take place on Friday afternoon (3rd October) at 1.30pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium which may also be viewed online (live only) by following this LINK. A special word of thanks to the staff at Tallaght Hospital and Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross for the care they gave to Elsie.
