Esther Matthews
(née Bannon)
The death has occurred, in her 90th year, of Esther Matthews (née Bannon), Saint Mary’s Villas, Kilsaran, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Saint Gerard’s Unit, Saint Oliver Plunkett Hospital, Dundalk, surrounded by her family. Esther, beloved wife of the late Pat and loving mother of Rita (English), Paul, Patricia (Morss) and Margaret (McGrory). Predeceased by her son Terry and son-in-law Kieran. Sadly missed by her son, daughters, grandchildren Lisa, Catherine, Laura and Aaron, her 5 great-grandchildren, sons-in-law Nigel and Sean, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Rest in Peace
A private family funeral for Esther will take place due to Government advice on public gatherings, with numbers limited to 50. Removal from Connor’s Funeral Home, Dunleer at 10.30am on Wednesday morning to Saint Mary’s Church, Kilsaran, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am which can be viewed live at http://www.churchmedia.tv/kilsaran. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
There will be an opportunity for the community to support the family and remember Esther, by being present, socially distanced, on the route to the Church, via Castlebellingham and Saint Mary’s Villas. Those who would like to attend but cannot due to Covid-19 restrictions may leave a personal message in the Condolence section below.
