Eugene (Gene) Collins

Collins, Eugene (Gene), late of Glasnevin and Bride Street, The Liberties – formerly of Leydens C & C and The Order of the Knights of Saint Columbanus - 13th January 2026 (peacefully) in his 93rd year surrounded by his loving family and in the care of the staff of St. Anne’s Ward in the Mater Hospital, after a long illness borne with dignity, patience and acceptance.

 

Predeceased by his beloved and sorely missed wife Patricia (Patty), his daughter Brenda, his sister Emily and brother Bobby, and son-in-law Dermot.

 

He will be sadly and greatly missed by his sons and daughters Caroline, Eugene, Siobhan, Ciaran, John and the late Brenda, seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers Harry and Michael, sons-in-law Paul and Martin, daughters-in-law Jacinta, Tracy and Debbie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law especially Sr. Brenda Mary (O. Carm), nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Ballygall Road West (D11 W7VX) on Thursday (15th January) from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Funeral on Friday morning (16th January) to Our Mother of Divine Grace Church, Ballygall for 10 o’clock Requiem Mass followed by Burial in Glasnevin Cemetery.

 

The family are forever grateful to the many people who helped look after their dad so well for the last six years.
