McCARTHY (Clogheen Road, Clonakilty): On October 12th 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. EUGENE (former An Garda Síochána) beloved husband and best friend of Dell (nee Moran) cherished father of Edell, Siobhain, Aoife and Eugene Finian, devoted grandfather to James, Anna, Sally, Sian, Frankie and Hughie, brother of the late Rita and Tom. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, sons-in-law Ian Carey, Declan Murphy and Des McAuley, Eugene’s fiancé Jenna Miller, grandchildren, brother Flor, sister Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, former colleagues and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Clonakilty on Thursday, October 14th 2021 from 6pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, October 15th 2021 at 2pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Clonakilty. This will be livestreamed via  www.clonakiltyparish.ie/live. Under Government Guidelines the capacity of the church is limited to 50%. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clonakilty. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired to Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing Service.

Eugene’s Funeral Cortege will leave his residence on Friday, October 15th 2021 at 1.15pm proceeding via Connolly Street, Rossa Street, Pearse Street and onwards to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Clonakilty. Please adhere to Government Guidelines on social distancing if attending Funeral Services or Cortege.
