Evelyn Sharkey (née McDonagh) Woodstream, Castlerea, and formerly of Buckhill, Fairymount, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. April 12th, 2026, peacefully, at Sonas Nursing Home, Cloverhill, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her parents, Pat and Bridget McDonagh; her first husband, Thomas; her sisters, Monica and Phyllis; her brothers, Gerry and Paschal; and her husband, Christey.
Evelyn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marian Birmingham(Trien), Dolores Duffy (Springfield), and Evelyn Davern (London); her grandchildren, Michael, Margaret, Ann-Marie, Jonathan, Patrick, Ava, and Sofia and her great-grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Joan Forde (Mullingar) and Gertie Lynch (Ballaghaderreen); her sons-in-law, Tom, Tony, and Ray; her nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, and friends.
May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace
Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home, Castlerea (F45 V2Y4), on Tuesday evening from 6:00p.m. until 7:30p.m. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Fairymount, for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock, followed by burial in Fairymount Old Cemetery.
