Finbarr O'Brien

On May 16th, 2025, peacefully in his 95th year, at his home surrounded by his loving family. FINBARR, beloved husband of the late Florance née Mahoney, much loved father of Michael, Florence, Anne-Marie (Flaherty), Jane (Folan), Finnie, and Dominic, dear brother of Sr. Hanora May, Joseph, Arthur, Mary Jane, Josephine and Kathleen. Sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law Michael and William, daughters-in-law Mary and Teresa, grandchildren Denise and her partner Anthony, Aoife and her husband Denis, Conor, Ciarán and Gearóid, Liam, Seán, Ronan and Sinéad, Killian, Aidan and Emma, Great-granddaughter Bella Grace, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

Dad loved Dirreenagorrig, the land and the fields, the cows and his dogs, but most of all he loved his family all around him.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home Eircode; P75 AK83 on Sunday May 18th from 5pm to 8pm (Shuttle bus will be available from the Sacred Heart Church, Glengarriff). Requiem Mass on Monday May 19th at 12noon at Sacred Heart Church, Glengarriff (to view live stream please click here) followed by burial in Glengarriff Cemetery. Donations if desired to the Bantry Day Care Centre, Hospital Cross, Bantry.
