Florrie (Florence) Abbott

ABBOTT (Gurtycloona, Bantry and formerly of Adrigole): On February 17th 2022, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the staff of Bantry General Hospital.  Florrie, much loved husband and best friend of Breeda (née Manning) and adored father of Maria, Colm and the late baby Christopher, dear brother to John and the late Michael and Jimmy, proud Grandad to CJ, Donagh, Clara and Seoidín. He will be sadly missed by his extended family including daughter-in-law Maura, son-in-law Patrick, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, great neighbours, and wide circle of friends. 

May Florrie rest in peace. 

The family would sincerely like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Bantry General Hospital for their excellent care of Florrie during his time there.

Reposing in Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel St., Bantry P75 YW58 on Sunday, February 20th, from 4pm  followed by prayers at 5pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, February 21st, at 12 noon in St Finbarr’s Church Bantry (live streamed on www.bantryparish.ie) followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery Bantry. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Friends of Bantry General Hospital c/o Bantry General Hospital.

Please wear a face mask when attending services at the Funeral Home or St Finbarr’s Church and please refrain from shaking hands with family members.
