On Thursday, 9th. April 2026 (in his 93rd year), Eamonn completed his life’s journey, surrounded by family and in the wonderful care of the staff at 'Áras Cois Fharraige' Nursing Home, Spiddal, Co. Galway.
As a former missionary, Eamonn spent time in South Africa and Venezuela. He returned home to work in the formation and education of students, followed by many years of parish work in the diocese of Cork and Galway.
Pre-deceased by his sister May O'Connor (Ahascragh), brothers Bob (Cooloo), Tom (Mayo Abbey), John (Clondalkin), Chris (Celbridge) and his nephew Micheál. Rest in peace.
Eamonn will be dearly missed by his sister, Sr. Ann Donohue (Presentation Sisters, Galway), his sisters-in-law Gertie, Ann, Breda and Ann as well as his nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins. He will be fondly remembered and mourned by his community of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, in particular his community in Croí Nua, Galway where he most recently resided. Mourned also in the parish of Los Olivos, Maracaibo, Venezuela where he is remembered to this day.

Funeral Arrangements
Sunday, 12th. April 2026
Eamonn will lie in repose at his community residence at Croí Nua, Taylors Hill, Galway (H91 WY2A) from 3 p.m. concluding with Mass at 6 p.m.
Monday, 13th April 2026
Removal to St. Patrick's Church, Moylough, Co. Galway (H91 X273), to arrive at 5 p.m. with sympathising until 7p.m.
Tuesday, 14th April 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Following Mass, he will be laid to rest in the plot of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, in Rahoon Cemetery. Livestreaming link for Requiem Mass: https://www.churchtv.ie/moylough/
