The death has occurred of
Fr. Gerard O'Doherty SVD
Fr. Gerard O’ Doherty SVD. (late of Kirwan Cottages and Oxmantown Road, Dublin 7) (Missionary in the Philippines, Ireland, and the U.S. for five decades).
Died peacefully on 16th July 2024, at the SVD Residence, Techny, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.
Fr. Gerard’s Funeral Mass and burial took place in Techny, Illinois on Monday, 22nd July, 2024.
Beloved son of the late Catherine (née Gahan) and James Doherty. Predeceased by his brother Brendan, sister-in-law Sylvia and nephew James.
Deeply regretted by his brothers Jimmy, Brian and Peter, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, friends and his Confrères in the Divine Word Missionaries.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of Gerard’s life will be held on Saturday 14th September 2024, at 6.30pm in The Church of the Holy Family, Aughrim St, Dublin 7.
