Fr. Noel Andrew Prendergast.

Clinton, Mississippi, U.S.A. and formerly Main Street, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny.

Fr. Noel entered eternal life on the evening of May 26, 2024. He was born on January 2, 1934 to his parents, John and Mary Prendergast and was the youngest of 7 children. He grew up in Main Street, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. His parents and siblings preceded him in death, his brothers Ted and wife Birdie, Fr. Billy, his sister Kitty and her husband John Joyce, brothers Jack and his wife Miriam, Fr. Paddy, and Leo and his wife Cally, Cally is his only remaining sister-in-law.

Fr. Prendergast attended Carlow Seminary to complete his studies to become a Catholic priest. He was ordained in June, 1958 for the diocese of Natchez-Jackson, Mississippi. U.S.A. His first assignment was Nativity Parish in Biloxi. During his priestly ministry he went on to serve parishes in Jackson, Natchez, Vicksburg, Columbus, Yazoo City and Clinton as well as Chaplain at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg. He chose to live in Clinton upon retirement. He leaves behind his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, his dear friends and his brother priests.
