The death has occurred of
Fr Sean LYONS
Lyons, Fr Sean - Retired Parish Priest Abbey-Duniry, formerly Shragh, Woodford, Co. Galway, on 3rd March 2020, peacefully at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the Staff of St Joseph's Ward, and previously in Portumna Retirement Village.
Predeceased by his parents, Gus and Mary Ellen, sister Sr. Imelda, brothers Neilus and Brendan. Sadly missed by his sisters, Sr. Louise (Dublin), Mary Clinton (Dublin), Monica Conneely (Oranmore), Philomena O'Reilly (Galway), Bernadette Lucas (Ballinasloe), his brothers Seamus (Shragh), and Joe (Galway), his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, extended family and friends, Bishop of Clonfert Michael Duignan, Bishop Emiritus John Kirby, priests of the Diocese of Clonfert, and the people of the parish of Abbey-Duniry.
Fr Sean will lie in repose at St. Ignatius Funeral Home, Duniry on Friday 6th March from 4 pm with removal at 8 pm to the Church of the Holy Family, Duniry. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Church grounds.
