Gabriel Cosgrove

Gabriel passed away peacefully on 5th March 2026 surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital Galway.

Predeceased by his mother Kathleen, father Paddy, baby brother Dominic and stepbrother Paddy. 

Gabriel will be sadly missed by his sisters Noreen (Battams, UK) Pat (Toms, UK) Winnie (Robinson, UK) Imelda (Lally) and Caroline (Cosgrove, UK), brothers Bernie (UK) Kevin and Chris, sisters-in-law Sue, Marie and Fionnula, brothers-in-law Malachy (Lally) Dave (Toms, UK), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Gabriel will repose in the room adjacent to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Brooklodge (H54 W602) on Sunday March 8th from 5pm to 6.30pm. Removal from his sisters Imelda’s residence for Funeral Mass on Monday, March 9th at 2pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Brooklodge, Ballyglunin

Burial afterwards in Abbeyknockmoy Cemetery.

Gabriel’s family will be forever grateful to his friends and the staff, both past and present, in the Brothers of Charity Community for always looking after Gabriel and giving him the best quality of life. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff of St Dominic’s Ward, University Hospital Galway for all their support.
