GAIL COTTER-BUCKLEY

It is with such heartbreak and regret that we have to announce the sudden passing of our amazing mother, Gail Cotter-Buckley. Gail passed away peacefully yesterday evening, Sunday 2nd October 2022 under the fantastic care of the ICU team at Cork University Hospital.

Gail was an absolutely amazing mother and was not only a mother to her two children Oonagh and Robyn and her granddaughter Nancy, but a mother figure to so many more people throughout her life, notably students both past and present at the Tourism and Hospitality Department, MTU. Hailing from Mayfield and making sure everyone knew it, Gail collected an army of friends as she went through life in Mayfield, Aghada, Bantry, her second home MTU and throughout many hospitality establishments in Cork and beyond. There wasn’t a place in the world Gail didn’t greet someone with a big smile and usually an accompanying hug. Gail loved her life and lived her life to the fullest, along with her beloved Brian there was nothing Gail didn’t say yes too.

Gail will be dearly missed by both Oonagh and Robyn, her granddaughter Nancy J, her beloved Brian, her parents Christine and Gabriel, brother Stephen, niece Freya, auntie Mary and the Bentley family, the McCormack family, Robyn’s Dad Ger, the Coonan family, her son-in-law Jazz, Jack, John and many many more friends and family.

We hope you keep Gail in your thoughts and prayers and forever uphold her memory as the big presence she held in every room.

Reposing at Sullivan's Funeral Home, Turners Cross on Thursday (6th) from 5:00pm until 6:00pm. Requiem Mass on Friday (7th) at 11am in St Erasmus Church, Aghada, followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery, Whitegate.
