Gearóid Lynch

The death has occurred of Gearóid (Gerry) Lynch, Rockwood House, Cloverhill, Belturbet, Co.Cavan. Monday 30th March 2026, peacefully in the tender loving care of his family and the wonderful staff at Cavan General Hospital, following an illness borne with great strength and courage.

Predeceased by his father Owen.

Gearóid was dearly loved and will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Tara, his children Orán, Lorcan, Emma and Eoin, his cherished mother Maura, his brothers Cathal (Karen) and Damien (Stephanie), his devoted sister Marese, his nephew Noah, parents-in-law John and Marie, sister-in-law Sinéad, brother-in-law Cillian (Valerie), his aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and his many friends, especially his colleagues and friends in the chef and hospitality community and his dedicated team at The Olde Post Inn.

May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.

Gearóid will repose at St. Aidan's Church, Butlersbridge (H12WA00) on Tuesday evening 31st March from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Remains will be removed to St. Aidan's Church Butlersbridge Wednesday 1st April arriving at 1pm for Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in St. Aidan's Cemetery.
