George (Georgie) Sweeney

The death has occurred of George Sweeney, Blenkeragh, Ballycroy – peacefully at Galway University Hospital following a short illness.

Predeceased by his parents George P and Anne, his brother Tony, sisters Kathleen, Una and little sister Ann, nephew George and niece Maura.

George will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Mary, sons Eóin and Fergus, daughters-in-law Martha and Helen, his adored grandchildren Holly, Emma, Ciarán and Dáire, his brothers Fr. Eamonn (Scotland), Joe (Dublin), his sisters Helen Kelly (Bonniconlon) Mary Quinn (Waterford) and Nuala Corcoran (Dublin), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended relatives, his wonderful neighbours and his wide circle of friends.

George will repose at the family Funeral Home, Sweeney’s (F28KF20) on Wednesday, 1st April from 4pm until 7pm with removal to the Church of the Holy Family, Ballycroy arriving at 7.30pm for reception and Funeral Mass.

Funeral liturgy on Holy Thursday morning at 11am with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Funeral liturgy will be live-streamed on Holy Family Church, Ballycroy Facebook page.
