George Lally, Knockshambo, Belmullet, Co. Mayo peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on 15th March 2026.

Predeceased by his wife Philomena (née Corduff), parents Mary and James and sisters Mary and Teresa.

Beloved father of Connie (London), Cora (Belmullet), Josie (Chicago), Orla (Belmullet), Caroline (Castlebar), Sinéad (Galway) and Edel (Belmullet), sons Colm (Belmullet) and Brian (Belmullet), cherished grandfather to his adored grandchildren Errris, Brian, Fiona, David, Hannah, Grace, Fergal, Clara and Mark and great-grandchild Owen He will be sadly missed by his family, sons-in-law Robert and Arthur, daughters-in-law Martina and Sheila, sisters Susan (London), Monica (London) and Sadie (London), brother-in-law Jack Hoey, sisters-in-law Evelyn, Freda and Annie, nieces, nephews, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

May His Kind and Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Remains reposing at his residence in Knockshambo (Eircode – F26 WK59) on this Tuesday evening from 4 o’clock until 8 o’clock. Funeral will arrive at the Church of Our Lady of the Dolours, Shanahee on Wednesday for Funeral Mass at 12 o’clock followed by burial in Emlybeg Cemetery.

Live streaming of the Funeral Mass will be available for viewing on Wednesday at 12 noon on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page with all other services available for viewing on Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock.
