George Spicer

SPICER (Shamrock Lawn, Douglas and formerly of Whitegate, Cork): On 11th October 2023, It is with deep sadness that we as a family announce the unexpected, sudden passing of our father and husband, GEORGE (late of Irish Steel and Ex. Sergeant Major of 23rd Inf. Battalion F.C.A), in the company of the caring and dedicated staff of Lavender Cottage, Dementia Unit of Brídhaven Nursing Home, Mallow, George leaves behind his beloved wife Olive (Beasley), son Bernard and daughter Cathy- Anne.

He is sadly missed by his wife and family, daughter-in-law Gina, son-in-law Henry, grandchildren Lauren, Andrew, Caitlin and Harry and Lauren’s husband Jamie Sheehan, also truly missed by his sister Patsy, brothers Joe and Brendan, his many friends, wonderful neighbours, relatives and cousins.

George is pre-deceased by his sister Merry.

Reposing at the Temple Hill Funeral Home, Boreenmanna Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Saturday (October 14th) from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Monday (October 16th) in St. Columba’s Church, Douglas which can be viewed

here.

Funeral afterwards to The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy.
