Rest in Peace GEORGE TYNER FITZPATRICK, son of George and Maud Fitzpatrick of Emlagh, Kilfenora, who died peacefully with his daughters present on 31st March at approaching 101 years of age. He had celebrated his centenary with all three generations of his family almost a year before. Mary, his adored wife of 67 years, died in 2017. They had met at a dance at the Hydro Hotel in her home town of Kilkee where she was known to all as ‘Baby O’Dea’. They moved to London in 1948 where they settled and had a very happy life together.
He was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his children Marion, Eileen and Robert, his grandchildren Lucy and Tom and their children Henry, Willow, Rose and Isla. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Willie, Ciss, Frank, Michael and John. His sister Nancy and his sisters-in-law Annie, Hilda and Maura mourn his loss. Described by many as a ‘gentleman’, his Irish eyes were smiling right up to the end.
His funeral will take place in England on 22 April 2025.
