It’s our heartbreaking duty to announce the untimely and unexpected passing of Gerard (Ger) Byrne of Lorcan Crescent Dublin 9, August 23rd, 2024. Two months to the day since the passing of our beloved Mam, Maureen. We have lost one of the gentlest and funniest people, whom we had the pleasure to call our brother and son. Unbearably missed by his dad Henry, sisters Patricia and Pauline, brothers Colin and Philip, along with all his nieces and nephews Philip, Dara, Ben, Amy, Callum, Lauren, Eleanor, Saibh, Matilda, Mabel and Sadie, sister-in-law Sarah and brothers-in-law John and Alan, and all his extended family and many, many friends.Ger was a true Bohemian until the end. He loved, and was much loved, by all at Dalymount Park (especially the legacy fans).
“Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Crying's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me”.
Look after each other Mam and Ger. Although we’ll miss you with all our hearts, it’s a comfort to know that you are together making each other laugh again.
May he rest in peace.
